Parents and guardians here are a few reminders to help keep our students safe and a few keys to being successful at school.
1. School begins every day at 7:50am. Your child is late at 7:55am. You can early drop-off at 7:30am. If your child is 5 minutes late every day, that is 14 hours of instruction they are missing. Attendance is a very important factor in student success. Please be on time to school!
2. Please do not use your cell phone in a school zone. It is against the law and is a $200 fine, but more importantly you need to have your attention on the road and looking for students crossing the street or the car in front of you.
3. When the bus is stopped with the stop sign out, do not go around it. We want to make sure our students are safe while they are getting on and off of the bus.
4. When picking up and dropping off your children, pull to the curb. Do not stop in the middle of the drive lane to pick up your child. Teachers are instructed to not allow students to walk alone through the parking lot.
5. Your child has homework most nights check their folders and review their work they completed at school. They should be reading at least 20 minutes a night. Research shows that students who read over 1 million words a year are in the top 1% of their class! Read with your child and have them read to you. The key to be better at math and reading is practice.
Our number one priority during pick-up and drop-off is safety. We have these rules to protect your children. Please be patient and understanding during these times. We assign work for home to teach responsibility and to review concepts that are taught at school. We love your children and want them to succeed! We are here for you. Thank you for being understanding and working with us to help your children be successful. We are blessed to have great parents like you!
Just a few weeks of school left lets finish strong!
Reminder that we do not have school tomorrow, April 23rd. It is a Bad Weather Day. Thank you and enjoy the 3 day weekend!
